Opening in 2009, Ris was the culmination of Chef Ris Lacoste’s dream to offer a new restaurant serving DC’s burgeoning West End neighborhood. The new corner restaurant provides sweeping panoramas of the neighborhood and a welcoming mix of informal and elegant dining areas. The spaces are designed to allow flexible seating that accommodates small and large parties in either private or open dining rooms. The addition of Ris’s sidewalk café has redefined the corner of 23rd and L Streets, NW, as a new urban destination. Kamm Architecture served as project architect and collaborated with Heffner and Weber, design builders, on the designs for the restaurant.
